Stacked Striped Granny
Yarn: Purl Soho, Cotton Chirp Dk, or any size #3 dk cotton yarn.
Materials: US Size F/5 (3.75 mm) crochet hook, yarn needle, scissors, tape measure
Size: 4 ¼” (10.8 cm) x 4 ¼” (10.8 cm)
Gauge: 23 sts per inch
Abbreviations and Stitches (U.S. Terms): beg – beginning, ch – chain, dc – double crochet, rep – repeat, sc – single crochet, sk – skip, sl st – slip stitch, st(s) – stitch(es)
Notes: Ch-3 counts as a stitch
INSTRUCTIONS:
Ch 19
Row 1: Sc in the 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across, ch 3 turn. (18 sc)
Row 2: Sk 2 sts, 3 dc in the next st, *sk 2 sts, 3 dc in the next st; rep from * across to the last 3 sts, sk 2 sts, dc in the last st, ch 3, turn. (5-3 dc clusters, 2 dc)
Row 3: Sk the first 2 sts, 3 dc in the next st (this should be the center st of the 3-dc cluster), *sk 2 sts, dc in the next st (this should be the center st of the 3-dc cluster); rep from * across to the last 3 sts, sk 2 sts, dc in the 2nd ch of beg ch-3, ch 3, turn. (5-3 dc clusters, 2 dc)
Rows 4-8: Rep row 3 and at the end of row 8, ch 1
Row 9: Sc in the 1st st and in each st across, fasten off. (18 sc)
Weave in ends and for best results block.
